I thought I was finding Spirit when in reality I was actually finding myself. It makes a lot more sense now. I am spirit you are spirit and we are all connected on this beautiful energy of coexisting together but also as one. It can really start to change your perspective on the way you see other people just thinking, they are a spirit in that body too. They are also living out this crazy experience we call life just trying to do the best they can. I started finding myself going through all the motions of what it meant to be “spiritual.” Am I spiritual? Am I spiritual enough? Am I doing enough spiritual things to be considered to be this certain way? I feel in life there is such a line drawn between what is physical and what is spiritual.

Creating difficulties in believing in ourselves and the wonders of the universe. Making us believe we have to work harder and do more to prove our worth to spirit just to be part of this world. I have found there are many things within spirituality that are extremely beneficial to our physical health and mental well-being. Use spiritual techniques to enhance your life and the quality of it. Use what you have been given rather than relying on someone else’s words or teaching techniques. Each of us is a unique individual who all have different things that light us up and make us feel good. Creating space for yourself to explore and learn what feels good to you. Get back to the basics just like a child seeing everything new for the very first time. Let yourself get excited about things, create and play. Learn and grow and teach one another. Spirituality for me at one time became confusing. I was focused on my image and what it meant to be spiritual not realizing all along I am spirit therefore I am already spiritual. Every single thing I do is spiritual. Cooking for myself and my family, cleaning the house, taking care of the girls, taking care of myself, and anything in between. When I honor myself and the people living in my life I am embodying what it is to be spiritual. I then was able to relax a little bit knowing I didn’t have to go on such a tangent every single day with meditation, reiki, and spiritual music, it became extremely exhausting and I thought to myself I don’t think this is what spirituality is supposed to feel like. It’s supposed to feel good and refreshing and uplifting. So I knew there was something not right.

Putting all these demands on ourselves can only create a place for chaos and that’s not what we want. We want peace and acceptance and we must bring it into our lives ourselves by being loving and accepting of ourselves first. Accept yourself for who you are and come up with an understanding of the things that you did not know. it is so important to make this space for ourselves to allow us to just be. Take a breath and know you are loved and accepted and you matter. You are just as important as anyone else who has been brought into this world. Do not let titles hold you down. Be the soul you were born to be by being your true authentic self! Don’t let all the stigmas and what if’s and do this hold you back from living your best life. Your life is constantly in motion, keep moving with the beat of life. Don’t let it stop you in your tracks or get in your way. Each and every single person is dealing with their own life struggles no matter how great they look on the outside. No matter how happy, how rich, how popular. There are always struggles and things that you will have to overcome. But you can do this. No one is going to do it for you. You have to make the change you have to want the change you have to be the change. Simple things small things. Improving just little things a bit at a time start to build up creating the momentum you need to have confidence in yourself to keep persevering. If you don’t enjoy and appreciate what you have now, you will never learn to do so. Be thankful for what you have and don’t dwell on what you haven’t been given. Focus on the good even when they aren’t so good. Staying in a positive mindset allows you to know you can do it.

Let your worries about what others think to fall away as you let yourself become who you were always supposed to be happy and loved. Be a decent person and treat those around you with respect even when it’s not reciprocated. It’s hard but you can do it. Making positive decisions helps you to feel more empowered and encouraged to keep doing better things. The ripple effect exists. When you go out of your way to be there for someone they, in turn, are in a better place as well and can pay it forward. Just an ear for someone can make a world of difference. I find these words ringing true for me. And, from time to time, I need to hear them too. To carry on and stay strong no matter what is going on in this life. This is what it means, to me, to be spiritual ❤️
